P R Smith Transport becomes first Tarmac Contract Haulier to be accredited under Mission Zero

P R Smith Transport, an owner-operator with a 32,000kg concrete mixer vehicle based in North East England, has recently been accredited under the Mission Zero scheme to improve its legal compliance and access subsidised training programs. The company, which is contracted to Tarmac CRH Ltd, had previously been accredited under Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), but decided to move to Mission Zero due to its recognition by Tarmac and its approachable support team.

“We had no choice but to join FORS for accreditation, but Mission Zero has given us a choice, and we appreciate their value for money audit and subsidised training program,” said owner Paul Smith. “The audit was conducted on a Saturday at no extra cost, which was beneficial to me as an owner-driver, and the auditor was professional and knowledgeable.”
