The purpose of the Mission Zero Governance Board is to provide independent
oversight of the Mission Zero Scheme, as well as provide clear sighted counsel to the
Mission Zero Executive Team on the strategic direction of the Mission Zero Scheme and
Quality Standard.

Transport Compliance

Amanda is a seasoned professional with a decade-long immersion in the dynamic world of transportation. She holds an International Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and is an esteemed ISO9001 Lead Auditor. Currently, she serves as the Head of Compliance for Essex Bulk Services Ltd and as the Operations Director at Darcica Logistics. Before these roles, Amanda was the Head of Auditing at Fleetsource, where she managed FORS, Mission Zero, and Earned Recognition audits. Amanda’s contribution to the development of Mission Zero was instrumental, playing a pivotal role in writing the standard.

Director of Darcica Logistics

Anthony has over 20 years experience in the transport industry. As a regional manager at Grundon Waste Management for eight years he moved on to start his own venture under the Amazon DSP Programme. Opening his own site in Bicester in 2021 for pallet and parcel deliveries, Darcica now has 30 full time staff and over 20 owned commercial vehicles, along with 40+ vans and 60+ drivers under the DSP programme. Created from the names of Anthony’s daughters; Darcey and Jessica, Darcica focuses on ‘driving towards a better future’ and achieved the Mission Zero Gold Standard with the Sustainability Module in October 2023. Anthony now sits on the governing board for Mission Zero and the RHA Net Zero Forum.

Group T.Compliance Manager

Adrian began his career in the transport industry in 1982 as an apprentice HGV mechanic with a medium-sized owner-operator in Derbyshire. He qualified at Chesterfield College in 1986, achieving City & Guilds certification, ITRE Section C, and his Transport Manager CPC.
He progressed through workshop roles, gaining his C+E licence while working for organisations including Unigate Group, BRS, and Northgate Vehicle Rentals, ultimately moving into Workshop Manager positions. In 2000, Adrian joined Balfour Beatty, where he has since held a number of senior Commercial Vehicle Management roles.
In 2013, he was appointed Group Transport Compliance Manager, a role he continues to hold today, with responsibility for Balfour Beatty’s Operator Licences across the business.

Multi Site Fleet Manager

Colin has over 20 years of hands-on experience in logistics, rising from a multidrop 3.5 t driver to Transport Operations Manager. He began his career as an agency driver, then moved on to a steel wholesaler and Coop Food (West Thurrock), where he earned his C+E licence and progressed from Yard Team Manager to Compliance Manager, overseeing a fleet of 250+ vehicles and 300+ drivers. After streamlining operations at GXO Enfield, Colin launched and designed end-to-end logistics from Brighton to Manchester for an online convenience retailer, boosting team development and service excellence. In late 2023, Colin transitioned into civil engineering with Kilnbridge as Fleet Manager. He now leads multi-site operations, championing a culture of safe, sustainable logistics and fostering a positive, collaborative atmosphere across all teams. 

clocs Programme Director

Andy joined CLOCS in February 2021 after 10 years as General Manager for the Considerate Constructors Scheme and prior to that in various operational roles within financial services. Andy brings valuable experience in membership models, marketing, training, business development and project development to help drive CLOCS forward in its mission to deliver safer, leaner and greener construction logistics. Andy overseas the CLOCS team and works closely with the CLOCS Strategy, Standards and Governance Board (SSGB) and the CLOCS members to ensure he high quality delivery of the CLOCS programme which adds value to its members and other stakeholders.

Chair of the MPA Transport Working Group

Dave Hart is Chair of the MPA Transport Working Group, a role he has held for the past four years. The MPA Transport Working Group brings together industry representatives to focus on key transport issues affecting the mineral products sector, supporting collaboration, sharing best practice, and contributing to the development of safer and more efficient transport operations.
He has over 20 years of experience in logistics and supply chain and is currently Head of Supply Chain at LKAB. He previously worked as Supply Chain Director for Cemex across the UK and Northern France. Dave holds a CPC and NEBOSH qualification and has an MSc in Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University.

Group T.M. for Brand energy

John has dedicated over 53 years to the Transport Industry. Starting as a 15-year-old apprentice HGV mechanic, he joined Scaffolding of Great Britain (SGB) in 1976. The company was later acquired by John Mowlem Construction in 1986, doubling its size and expanding operations to Gambia. After leaving John Mowlem in 1999, John remained with SGB, eventually becoming Group Transport Manager.  John continues as Group Transport Manager, managing a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles with support from 11 Yard & Transport Managers. Under Harsco and Brand, the group achieved FORS Silver certification for many years, became CLOCS Champions and ALLMI registered members, and now proudly holds Gold status with Mission Zero.

Quality & Compliance Advisor

Lisa has over 10 years’ experience in looking after certifications held by UK Power Networks Services. She is an ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, auditing processes and procedures within the company. UK Power Networks Services held FORS Bronze for several years before she proudly helped achieve FORS Silver and Gold for the company. UK Power Networks Services gained gold status with Mission Zero in 2025 and achieved the two Sustainability modules too. She works closely with drivers, managers, and the Transport Team to ensure that the Mission Zero Standard is complied with.

Senior regional T.M FOR M GROUP

James Clayton started his career as an engineering apprentice but always intended to work in the road transport industry, following his father and uncles into the profession. His first role in the industry was as a parcel courier with Interlink Express Parcels in 1990.
He continued working as a driver for several years, operating a wide range of vehicles from vans to 44-tonne trucks across a variety of roles, including bulk tippers, European refrigerated haulage, vehicle recovery, and local multi-drop pallet deliveries. During this time, he progressed into supervisory and management positions within several companies.
More recently, James served as Scottish Operations Manager with Bibby Distribution, where he worked for fifteen years before joining M Group. He has now been with M Group for five years and currently holds the position of Senior Regional Transport Manager, overseeing fleet operations and driver compliance across Scotland alongside his team of Regional Transport Managers.

Consisting of highly experienced industry experts, the board are there to ensure that Mission Zero always operates fairly, objectively and transparently, offering the highest level of service and value to fleet operators.

The board’s role and responsibilities include:

  • Supports the development of our long-term aims and objectives.
  • Approves our annual business plans, budgets and targets.
  • Supports and approves significant changes to the Mission Zero Standard, policies and practices.
  • Determines the use of operating profit surpluses in support of Accredited Operators.
  • Determines Accredited Operator suspensions and terminations.
