Mission Zero, one of the UK’s leading fleet accreditation schemes, is now officially accredited and recognised as equivalent to FORS Gold*, making it the most comprehensive and cost-effective fleet standard available in the market today.

Nick Caesari, founder and CEO of Mission Zero said “Mission Zero’s foundation is built on a full legal compliance audit, ensuring that fleet operators are consistently meeting their legal obligations, whilst also being officially recognised as both FORS Silver* and FORS Gold* equivalent. This means that fleet operators have a recognised FORS alternative to meeting contractual obligations; to date we are not aware of any other fleet accreditation scheme that covers the broad spectrum that Mission Zero now offers.”

As well as their standard Mission Zero audit, customers can now choose from one of three bolt-on Mission Zero+ modules: WRRR 1 (Silver), WRRR 2 (Gold) or, WRRR 1 & 2 (Silver & Gold Unified). Modules 1 & 2 cost £115 each, however the unified audit costs £195. Caesari said “Mission Zero has been designed to be make accreditation affordable for all fleet types, especially smaller operators. As an example, a fleet operator with 15 vehicles, and two operating centres who wishes to obtain FORS Silver & FORS Gold equivalence can achieve this for as little as £825, including the subscription fees. That is just short of a 60% saving by comparison to FORS”.

Mission Zero also supports operators through their accreditation journey, by offering over 60 free templates and resources, which includes policies, procedures, risk assessments, training materials, as well as other items. Caesari said “ Fleet accreditation should not have to be challenging and all operators need to do is register free of charge on our website to access all these free resources, saving them hours trying to draft documents in-house”.

Mission Zero also offers a subsidised training program that offers discounted manager and driver training, covering all the requirements in the standard. This includes access to the latest course content and technology, including the Mission Zero & FORS approved virtual reality course (accredited as equivalent to on-cycle training) from as little as £63 per driver (excluding DVSA fees if applicable).

Caesari continued “The hidden cost of accreditation is generally the largest expense, especially driver training. Although some schemes state they are free, the reality is the combined expense of the training, consultants and audits really mounts up, it is the total cost of the accreditation that operators need to be aware of. Mission Zero supports operators ‘across the board,’ ensuring that all costs related to accreditation are transparent and affordable so it can be achieved by all.”

Flannery’s Plant Hire was one of the first operators to successfully achieve Mission Zero accreditation and John Moran, Flannery’s’ Transport Director said “Mission Zero captures the requirements for both legal compliance and procurement requirements from specifiers. The forward thinking of Mission Zero to capture all of this in one audit is priceless!”

Caesari concluded “As a customer centric scheme, we are committed to ensuring our customers feel supported and achieve the best value from their accreditation; that is one of Mission Zero’s key differentiators from other schemes.”
