Mission Zero joined Exchanging Places with Mace Dragados to promote road safety. For the first time, we brought Virtual Reality to the event, delivering a fully immersive 360-degree experience that places learners in realistic road environments, all from the safety of the classroom.

This year marked the first time Virtual Reality (VR) was introduced to the event, bringing a fully immersive 360-degree experience that places participants directly into realistic road environments.

Through VR, learners experienced the road from a driver’s perspective — all within a safe, controlled setting. This cutting-edge technology helped raise awareness of the challenges faced by vulnerable road users, including cyclists and pedestrians, offering a deeper understanding of how accidents can happen.

Exchanging Places + brought together key players in road safety, including the police, industry experts, and community groups, united by the goal to improve road behaviour and reduce accidents. Our VR sessions added an interactive, engaging element to the event, allowing participants to truly ‘walk a mile’ in a driver’s shoes.
