M Group has achieved Mission Zero Accreditation, marking an important milestone in its ongoing commitment to safety, sustainability, and responsible fleet operations across the UK and Ireland.

As one of the UK’s leading essential infrastructure service providers, M Group operates across water, energy, highways, rail & aviation, and telecoms, supporting both private and public sector organisations. With over 13,000 employees across 200 locations, the business works with major clients including HS2, Transport for London, and UK Power Networks, many of whom require recognised transport compliance standards.

Recognising the importance of aligning compliance and safety practices under a single, trusted framework, M Group identified Mission Zero Accreditation as an opportunity to bring its values of safety, sustainability, and responsibility together under one unified standard.

Mick Lathrope, Senior Regional Transport Manager at M Group , explained:

“M Group takes its duty of care seriously, towards our people, our supply chain, and the wider public. Safe driving is critical for all road users, and we’re committed to providing safe workplaces and robust systems that minimise risk wherever possible. Mission Zero reflects these values and reinforces our dedication to continuous improvement.

While we currently hold FORS accreditation on a handful of contracts, the business is keen to align under a unified brand. Mission Zero offered a clear opportunity to bring our compliance approach in line with our core values.”

He went on to describe how straightforward and constructive the accreditation process was:

“The audit process was straightforward and transparent. With the ability to upload evidence and policies to the portal in advance, the audit focused less on locating documents and more on understanding our operations and the systems that support compliance.

I’d strongly recommend exploring Mission Zero accreditation, it’s a great way to demonstrate leadership in promoting best practice across the transport sector.”

Paul Grafton FCILT, Head of Compliance at Mission Zero, said:

“M Group achievement reflects what Mission Zero is all about, a commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement embedded at every level of the organisation. Their collaborative approach and clear focus on doing the right thing for their people and communities set a real benchmark for others in the industry. It’s been a pleasure to support them through the accreditation process.”

Mission Zero congratulates M Group on this achievement and looks forward to supporting their continued journey. Together, we’re raising the bar for safer, more sustainable fleet operations across the UK.
